Therapeutic massage is medium-deep pressure, targeting areas of chronic tension and pain in muscles and movements. Your massage will be customized based on where there is discomfort, using a range of modalities that may include Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Stretching, Reflexology, Cupping, Heated Bamboo, Hot Stones, and more. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue), or Trigger Points in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions and Trigger Points can block circulation and cause specific and referred pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Therapeutic massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions and release fascial restrictions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
